πŸŽ‰ Anna 1.1.0-beta.127 β†’ beta.137 β€” Release Review Test Track, Friction-Free Uploads & Self-Healing Cloud Agents!

Hey Anna app developers! :waving_hand:

Eleven releases in this batch β€” and almost every single one of them started as your forum post. The review pipeline grew a proper test track, uploads lost their most annoying gate, Cloud Agents learned to heal themselves, and a whole class of confusing errors got real names. Let’s go! :rocket:

:sparkles: New Features

  • :test_tube: Release review test track β€” reviewers now actually run your updates (beta.136/137) β€” Until now, when you submitted a new version of an already-published app, reviewers could only approve or reject it blind β€” there was no way for them to run the candidate. Now reviewers install your candidate version straight from the review queue and test it in an isolated β€œreview track”: candidate resolution only applies inside the track, your existing users keep seeing the live version, and once the review ends everything auto-rolls back to the published release. Your anna-app apps status also tells you when a version is release under review. What gets tested is exactly what ships! :bullseye:

  • :pushpin: Review candidate pinning + explicit re-submit (beta.134) β€” submit-review now anchors the exact version under review. Cutting new versions after submitting no longer silently swaps the review target. Found a bug mid-review? Just cut a fix and re-run apps submit-review β€” the pinned candidate is explicitly (and idempotently) replaced, with the full release precheck re-run. No more drift, no more surprises. :locked:

  • :open_file_folder: Host Upload MIME whitelist β€” gone! (beta.128, forum #218) β€” You told us the MIME whitelist punished honest apps (Office docs rejected!) while doing nothing against dishonest ones β€” and you were right. The whitelist is removed end-to-end: grants, tokens, validation, the Permissions UI text box. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and everything else now upload freely. A hard blocklist (executables, SVG) and per-purpose gates stay in place, and download URLs now carry a server-enforced Content-Disposition so nothing sketchy can ever render inline. Safer and more open. :shield:

  • :magnifying_glass_tilted_left: Structured tool errors β€” no more phantom β€œexecuta unavailable” (beta.128) β€” When your plugin raised a JSON-RPC error, the host used to collapse it into executa_unavailable β€” your Executa was online, yet users saw β€œunavailable”. With anna-app-core 0.18.1 + Agent β‰₯ beta.33, plugin errors now map to proper classes: -32602 β†’ invalid_arg, everything else β†’ tool_failed, with the original jsonrpc_code preserved in details. Upload errors got the same love: UPLOAD_TOO_LARGE (-32204), UPLOAD_MIME_REJECTED (-32205), UPLOAD_PURPOSE_REJECTED (-32206) instead of one generic provider error. Debugging just got so much faster. :detective:

  • :file_cabinet: APS storage works out of the box in dev (beta.135, forum #245) β€” Bundled Executas declaring aps.kv / aps.files used to hit -32021 storage_token missing on self-installed dev apps, because the dev grant bundle never included a storage grant. Fixed β€” storage_grant is now part of the default dev bundle, so APS works the moment you anna-app dev. Store away! :floppy_disk:

  • :adhesive_bandage: Self-healing Cloud Agents (beta.131, forum #222/#236) β€” If a Cloud Agent’s persistent volume ever went missing on the provider side, the machine could deadlock in an error state with destroy-and-lose-everything as the only exit. Now the platform detects volume drift on wake-up, re-attaches or re-provisions automatically while preserving your agent’s identity, and unblocks stuck onboarding β€” with full audit trails. Your client_id, grants, and installed Executas survive. :ring_buoy:

  • :vertical_traffic_light: Submit-review rate gate removed (beta.129) β€” The daily submission limit only punished developers iterating honestly after a rejection (the state machine already prevents queue spam). Gone. Iterate as fast as you fix! :person_running:

:bug: Bug Fixes

  • :white_check_mark: executa publish --publish no longer 500s for PAT users (beta.135, forum #245) β€” Upgrading an Executa to public visibility via PAT hit an internal lazy-load crash (cookie sessions were fine, which made it extra confusing). Fixed β€” CLI publishing works exactly like the dashboard now.

  • :speech_balloon: Publish precheck errors now explain themselves (beta.135, forum #245) β€” The private-visibility precheck message now shows the exact visibility value it read and clarifies that app_bundled already satisfies packaging β€” you do not need --publish to the public Hub to ship a bundled Executa. Also: host_capabilities is now properly documented in the manifest reference (it was always valid β€” the docs just never said so ).

  • :label: #-mentioning your unpublished app works again (beta.130, forum #234) β€” Draft / in-review apps installed by you (or a reviewer) were silently dropped from chat mention injection, so the LLM couldn’t open your app’s views. Mentions now resolve to your actually-installed version. Test in chat with confidence!

  • :package: β€œUI bundle is not ready” caught at submit time, not review time (beta.134) β€” If your candidate declared a UI without a finalized bundle, it used to sail into the review queue and then explode when the reviewer opened it. The precheck now catches it instantly with a clear pointer to re-run anna-app apps publish.

  • :link: Cloud Agent file links no longer expire in 30 minutes (beta.134, forum #230) β€” Files your agent uploads and shares now come with a 7-day download_url (same contract as dashboard attachments), instead of a short-lived internal presigned URL that 403’d on your users an hour later.

  • :counterclockwise_arrows_button: Update badge no longer suggests downgrades (beta.137) β€” The installed-apps list compared versions with string inequality, so a reviewer running a candidate newer than the live release saw a bogus β€œUpdate” button that would have downgraded them. Now it’s proper semver comparison everywhere.

  • :hammer_and_wrench: Permissions panel upload settings actually apply (beta.128) β€” A snake_case/camelCase key drift meant the Executa Permissions upload configuration had been silently ignored since launch. Fixed, with historical dead keys cleaned up.

  • :brick: Platform hardening after the Aug 8 incident (beta.127) β€” A native-extension GIL freeze silently took out several workers for days. We shipped a freeze watchdog (auto-dump + restart), poison-pill task circuit breaking, and instance-count reconciliation alerts. Web search and tool infrastructure is dramatically more resilient now. :flexed_biceps:

:puzzle_piece: Compatibility Notes

  • :green_circle: Everything is additive β€” no manifest changes required. Existing apps keep working unchanged.
  • :outbox_tray: If your app was blocked on uploading Office documents (or any previously-whitelisted-out MIME type) β€” just try again. It works now. :tada:
  • :magnifying_glass_tilted_left: To get structured plugin error codes, update to anna-app-core β‰₯ 0.18.1 (Agents on β‰₯ beta.33 emit them; older combos gracefully fall back to the previous behavior).
  • :test_tube: If you have an app version sitting in re-review right now, expect reviewers to actually run it β€” make sure your candidate is the one you want tested (re-submit swaps it explicitly).

:open_mailbox_with_raised_flag: Feedback Welcome!

Shipped an Office-file-powered app? Watched a reviewer actually test-drive your update? Had a Cloud Agent quietly heal itself overnight? Drop your questions, feedback, or showcase posts below β€” most of this batch came directly from your forum reports (#218, #222, #230, #234, #236, #245 β€” thank you! :folded_hands:). Happy building! :purple_heart::sparkles:
