My app (@ryugi62/shiplog) was submitted for App Review on Sep 25 and is still pending. If it is not approved by the DoraHacks BUIDL deadline (Sep 30, 15:59 UTC), will a BUIDL submitted with the app still in review be accepted, given that Founding Builder qualification runs until Nov 30?
Is there any way to request an earlier review?
About how Qualified App Runs are counted:
My app is bundle-only (manifest schema 2, no Executa). Its core task runs in the app window: it calls llm.complete through the Host API and saves the result with storage.set.
Does a run like this appear in Anna’s server-side execution records and count toward Qualified App MAU, or must the core task go through an Executa or an agent session?
If it counts, which step marks the run as complete (llm.complete, storage.set, or something else)?
Hi @ryugi62, thanks for laying out the questions so clearly.
BUIDL deadline and pending App Review
Good news: the DoraHacks deadline is being extended to the end of October today, and at the end of October it will be extended again to the end of November, so it stays aligned with the Anna program timeline. Please go ahead and submit your BUIDL even if the App Review is still pending. From the Anna program side, a pending review does not invalidate an otherwise on-time BUIDL submission, and once your App is approved and published on Anna, your DoraHacks BUIDL will be approved at the same time.
The Founding Builder qualification window is separate and remains open through November 30. To officially qualify, the App must eventually be approved and published on the Anna Marketplace, and reach at least 200 Qualified App MAU in a single calendar month during the qualification window.
Please note that the September Launch Boost only applies to Apps that meet the qualification requirements during the September measurement cycle. Apps that first qualify in October or November can still become Founding Builders, but would receive the standard monthly grant for the tier they reach.
Review timing
App Reviews are normally completed within 3–5 business days. Since your App was submitted on September 25, it is still within the normal review window. We’ve noted the upcoming deadline and will check the status with the review team, although approval timing may still depend on whether any changes are required.
Qualified App Runs for bundle-only Apps
A Qualified App Run does not have to go through an Executa or an Agent session. A bundle-only App can count as long as:
The run is started by a valid, signed-in Anna user
The App successfully completes its declared primary function
It returns a meaningful, non-trivial result
The activity can be verified through Anna’s server-side records
For the workflow you described, a successful llm.complete request that produces the App’s meaningful result can qualify. A storage.set call by itself would not be treated as a Qualified App Run; it can be part of the workflow, but simply saving data is not enough on its own.
We do not use one universal Host API call as the completion marker for every App, since different Apps have different primary workflows. The full successful execution is considered together with the App’s declared function and server-side activity.
As a reminder, simply opening or installing the App does not count, and failed, cancelled, developer, team, or internal QA runs are excluded.
Hope this clears things up, and thanks for submitting shiplog!
